This picture book celebrates the power of a pinch of love. Like a magic ingredient, a pinch of love brings back smiles, and leads to a positive change in everyone’s lives. The lyrical rhyming text is a beautiful reminder of the importance of spreading love.

I am a fan of Barry Timms and Tisha Lee’s work since their last book “Love Grows Everywhere” hit the shelves. Much like their previous book, this book too takes the reader on parallel journeys – an ode to the power of love told in words and a parallel story about a grandmother and a grandchild, spreading love in the community through baking and sharing. Barry and Tisha are experts at what Katie Wood Ray describes as the technique of “crafting a backstory”. Much like Cynthia Rylant’s classic “Snow”, this book never mentions the grandmother or the grandchild in words, yet like Lauren Stringer’s illustrations in “Snow”, “help carry the story” of love throughout the book.
