Everyone Loves Lunchtime But Zia

Everyone loves lunchtime, except Zia whose lunch box is different because it is packed with home-cooked Cantonese food. She loves the food at home, but feels embarrassed by the same food at school – she’d rather have food similar to her classmates to blend in. When she shares her feelings with her parents, they come up with an idea of packing a special Cantonese dish for lunch each day and explain the significance of the dish to Zia. I love this book because instead of highlighting Chinese cuisine in general, author Jenny Liao has focused on Cantonese cuisine and specificity always makes a book more appealing!
