Readers everywhere, here comes “𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀” the latest masterpiece from Kate DiCamillo!

It has been quite a while since I’ve read and enjoyed such a humorous yet profound book! “𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀” is the story of Emma Phineas Wilkey (who everyone called Ferris) and her family comprising her parents, her grandma Charisse, her sister Pinky Wilkey (who declares herself to be an outlaw!), her uncle Ted and aunt Shirley and her dog Boomer. Charisse, who is old and unwell, claims that she sees a ghost at the threshold of her room. Just when you think that the appearance of the ghost is a bad omen, it turns out that the ghost is unhappy and has its own plans that somehow ends up roping in the entire family.

More than the humour (I was literally laughing out loud), the characters are so relatable, that it will leave you with that fuzzy feeling about the power of friends and family coming together and you will remember “𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀” for a long time to come. Especially hilarious is Pinky with her antics (who has shades of a female version of Horrid Henry – and more sinister than Moody Margaret); and Charisse’s words “𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺” will ring in your hearts long after the last page has been turned.

Book releases on 5 March 2024. Highly recommended for ages 8 and above.
