Itโs time to add Melissa Stewartโs โ๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฎ ๐๐ข๐ฎ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ฑ! As the title suggests, this picture-book from the non-fiction-powerhouse focuses on the journey of a carbon atom. With Martaโs engaging illustrations, this is a great book to teach children about atoms, science, and chemistry.
I LOVED how Melissa tells us the backstory on the inspiration for this book and the creative journey. My respect for her increases manifold at how she has acknowledged a presentation from Candace Fleming that shaped the final sequence and โcollapsing time.โ
Thank you to SLJโs picture-book palooza for the DRC. Opinion expressed is 100% mine and uninfluenced. Book releases on 28 October 2025.
