For many educators and students, their world was rocked last week when they learned about the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. With so much to process, how do we tell our kids that despite all the negativity, there is still hope?
“Hope Wins” couldn’t have landed on my device at a more opportune moment. It is a collection of short personal stories and essays from authors such as Matt de la Peña, Hena Khan, Rex Ogle, Christina Soontornvat, Veera Hiranandani and many more. Each story in the anthology is a personal story on hope in times of adversity, finding motivation during a downward spiral of life, and an ode to the strong spirit during darker times. Written with a natural tone of voice, the narratives will appeal immensely especially to tween readers.
As I read this anthology, somehow it soothes my frazzled nerves and fills me with hope that hope indeed is everywhere if we look for it!
