If you are still undecided about the nonfiction title that you’d read aloud next week (check out my previous post), try out Jessica Lanan’s “𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿” that has got the book world jumping for joy. The picture book about a day in the life of a backyard jumping spider would get your students wide-eyed in wonder at the charming illustrations and informative backmatter. Set in a community garden visited by a child, her actions like jumping, and climbing mirror those of the spider! Gorgeous nonfiction title, not to be missed!
