Mama Car

I love the books by Lucy and James Catchpole for their positive tone about disability. No wonder I was looking forward to Lucy’s latest book “𝙈𝙖𝙢𝙖 𝘾𝙖𝙧”.

This is a book about her daughter calling the wheelchair “Mama Car” and Lucy’s lived experience shines through. The adventures on Mama Car sends the message that for families with disabled parents, wheelchairs are just a part of their lives.

On a sidenote, I follow John Reynolds on TikTok (IG: @johnejreynolds) whose wife Jade is a wheelchair user. The positivity that the family exudes is so in sync with Lucy’s book.

Being a disabled parent is challenging, but both Lucy and Jade exemplify that their families can still have fun!
