There’s something magical when childhood memories are turned into picture books. For fans of “𝘐 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘓𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘈 𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳”, “𝗠𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝗮’𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻” from the duo promises to be more. I love the way Jordan Scott writes about his special relationship with his Polish grandmother who doesn’t speak English, yet memories are made through family routines and touch. I like that the author’s note appears right at the beginning, that sets the tone for the reader to appreciate Baba’s habits such as keeping food everywhere in the house or not wasting even spilled food.

Sydney Smith as usual never fails to enchant. The spread with Baba in the kitchen is fascinating - one can see the dance of the sunlight coming through the window making the reader feel present in the room.

A beautiful book that should not be missed!
