My Beautiful Voice

This is the story of a young child who finds it difficult to muster enough courage to read her poem in front of the class. In comes exuberant Miss Flotsam, a teacher who loves poetry and who gives our little protagonist time to write her poem and time to feel confident enough.

This picture book with gorgeous colourful illustration celebrates those in class who take the backseat during sharing time. The words are so cleverly used that this would be a good mentor text even for Grades 3 to 5. My favourite lines: “𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦.”
