Nana In The Country

A decade after the publication of Lauren Castillo’s “𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆,” we now have the companion book “𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆” out in the world in February 2024.

This time, Nana (who lives in the city) visits the country and her grandson is super excited to teach her all about the country. But to his dismay, Nana already seems to know the ins and outs of country living. Then comes a stormy night and the boy must take the lead in making sure that the farm animals are safe and sound!

Lauren’s illustrations are gorgeous as ever. I love the parallel structure of the twin books – a great set to teach point of view and compare & contrast.
