Ajay Anthonipillai, an eighth grader, comes from a strict Tamil family of Sri Lankan origin. He is expected to be perfect in his school grades. However, since moving to a new school, he finds getting along with Jacob to be a challenge. One day, Jacob dares Ajay to shoplift a candy bar from the local convenience store and in the spur of the moment, Ajay does so to be “cool,” only to discover that the candy has a wrapper with a million-dollar prize!
