As a reader, beyond the plot and magnetism of a book, I’m always on the lookout for that ‘spark’ that only a skillful author can create. The mention of Kareem taping up a poster of cricket legend Wasim Akram was definitely one! It created that instant connection that only cricket followers would feel and understand.

The way Aisha Saeed has included Shehzil Malik (the cover illustrator) as a part of the plot came as a beautiful surprise. And it isn’t just a passing mention, but Shehzil Malik is an integral and important part of the plot itself, a constant source of inspiration.
