Our Friend Hedgehog

Wish fulfilled – finally got hold of Book 2 of Lauren Castillo’s Hedgehog series. “𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗴: 𝗔 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲” is as heart-warming as the first book. A gorgeously illustrated chapter book on belonging, friendship and the true meaning of home, this series is perfect for class read-alouds. Lauren Castillo hooks the reader right at the beginning with the opening lines:

“𝘍𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘴.

𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘣𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘩, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘯...”

Hedgehog finds a creature that looks almost like her – another hedgehog. That raises the question, where does Hedgehog belong and who is Hedgehog’s true family?
