I am definitely not a fan of sci-fi books or fantasy – I don’t think you’d find a single one on my feed! But hey, “𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵-𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝘆” is different!
Written in the format of a graphic novel, it is the story of Booger Lizk’t and his family who had to escape their lizard community below the earth’s surface for survival. Booger must take a human identity with the name “Tommy Tomkins”, attend a human school, live with a human face, and blend in with humans. There’s an ‘unputdownable’ element in this book as you want to find out if his cover is blown and at the same time, you realise that the story is not about Booger’s social tension, but about acceptance, identity, belonging, and being true to oneself… Great for grades 4 and above - and be ready to be blown away by the author’s note on how this book came about.
