I was elated to finally get a copy of Debasmita Dasgupta’s “𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝟯”. Set in the format of a graphic novel, this book is about 17-year-old Khwab Nazir from Srinagar as she waits at the lounge of Terminal 3 of the New Delhi International Airport. She is all set to represent India at an international martial arts competition. Told in flashbacks, this is an amazing recount of a young woman’s life in Kashmir, of friendship and of resilience. A great read for 12 and above, this is a rare book set in turbulent Kashmir. Debasmita’s artwork is eye-catching as usual and I especially love the way she depicts the eyes of her characters; I can draw parallels with the famous Indian painter Jamini Roy’s signature style. Loved this graphic novel!
