The Knowing

Ani Di Franco’s “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴” is an adorable picture book on identity that deals with discerning between what appears on the surface as we meet someone, as opposed to really “knowing” the person underneath. It is also one of those books where the illustrator lends an enriching trajectory to the text. Julia Mathew’s illustration depicts a little girl growing up in India, adding another layer to the narrative. I cannot wait to introduce this book to my Grades 2s!
