The Skull

Based on a folktale, Jon Klassen’s “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗸𝘂𝗹𝗹” is a story of a little girl Otilla who runs away from home and deep into the woods, finds a house hosted by a skull. The skull opens the door on the condition that Otilla would have to carry it. As night approaches, the skull confesses that it is scared of a headless skeleton who is a regular visitor and that Otilla must save the skull from the skeleton.

Mysterious and humorous in equal measure, I enjoyed this book thoroughly! Great for grades 3 and above!
