Death, though inevitable, is often made invisible in our discussions with children. When we speak of culture and tradition, customs related to passing away is again brushed under the carpet. “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂” is remarkable because it normalizes the focus on traditions related to death, in a very uplifting and child-friendly tone. The topic need not always be steeped in nostalgia, melancholy, and aching; it can also be seen as a celebration of life, a remembrance of those we love and long for. The book highlights end-of-life traditions in various parts of the world as grief binds humanity like no other.
