Most books with a message on slowing down seem to unsee those like me who need something to look forward to โ€“ nothing significant, but just that nudge, that glimmer of hope that makes me believe that tomorrow will be a brighter day. Most books on slowing down make me feel as if I am on a wrong trajectory, as if hoping for hope on the other side of the hairpin bend is akin to being deficient. If you are like me, I cannot recommend Sophie Blackallโ€™s book enough.

As the title suggests, we all need something to look forward to and long for, mostly simple but meaningful things in life like a cup of coffee, hugging a friend, listening to a familiar song, or just taking a nap! I loved this book immensely because of the way it highlights the enthusiastic anticipation of things that youโ€™d notice only when you let the beauty of simplicity carry you through the maze of life.
