My copy of “𝗔 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗢𝘂𝗿𝘀” is finally here! Celebrating families of every size and form, this latest addition to the series by Frank Murphy, Alice Lee and Kayla Harren is a reminder of all the important connections we build over the years that foster safety, growth, and togetherness.

A strong believer in the Bengali concept of a “family” (or “relative” - আত্মীয়, pronounced “attiyo”) implying one who shares a connection with your “atma” or soul to be one’s family member - and goes beyond traditional familial ties or families by adoption, I wondered if this concept would find a place in the book. It is heart-warming to find traces of this idea where the authors mention that as we grow, we create our own families, some of which may last a season while others may last a lifetime and through the illustrations, imply close friendships to be at par with familial ties.

Enjoyed sharing this amazing book with a lovely bunch of 6-year-olds… a perfect addition to my collection!
